Siyani Nsaliwa

CCACH Chair

Siyani is an award winning community activist who has been involved with CCACH since 1994 when he first moved to Edmonton from Malawi, Africa. CCACH gave Siyani his first leadership opportunity as he became the president of the short-lived Edmonton Association of African and Caribbean Youth – a youth wing of CCACH. Siyani also went on to lead the Black Students Association at the University of Alberta before he became one of the founding Tutors on the CCACH Tutoring programme in 1999, where he tutored for 12 years. Siyani also led the CCACH AfroQuiz programme for 7 years before joining the board of CCACH in 2012 and became its chair in May, 2015.

Siyani lives in Edmonton with his wife and two children, and enjoys time with family and friends, travelling, football (soccer) and DJ’ing.
